2023 IS A SPECIAL ANNIVERSARY MILESTONE FOR MINI COOPER AND THE COOPER CAR COMPANY
It was 60 years ago that the first production Mini Cooper S hit the road. It also represents the 75th anniversary of the Cooper Car Company.
To celebrate these milestones, Mike Cooper and the Cooper Car Company have commissioned a very special limited edition run of 20 fast road Minis based on original Mini Cooper and Cooper S cars.

“I wanted to do something special to celebrate these important milestones,” says Mike Cooper, son of the company’s founding father, John Cooper
In conjunction with Brightwell Motor Company, 20 petrol-driven Mini Coopers will be built with special Cooper Car Company features that are unique to this very limited series of one of the world’s most loved and cherished automobiles. Once the 20 cars are sold, no more will be built and they are expected to fast become sought after collector cars with a provenance that can only come from their close association with Mike Cooper and the Cooper Car Company.
Important to Mike was that the project have elements of both sustainability and originality, so these are not re-bodied cars, all 20 will be built from genuine, Mk1 Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S base cars, restored, rustproofed and painted with the highest quality modern materials to ensure they live on for many years to come.

The thoughtfully modified cars will be available in either right or left-hand drive format but all will be finished in the famous Cooper Car Company Connaught Green and Old English White paint scheme, with carefully chosen interior and exterior details to reflect their Cooper Car Co. heritage.
Cooper cars may have been famous for their green and white liveries, but at their heart were special engine developments, so these 75th anniversary limited editions will feature carefully modified engines and gearboxes. Customers will be able to choose variations on the specification if they wish, but the cars will be offered with 1380cc A-series engines built on original 1275cc blocks, and all will feature Cooper Cars’ signature twin H4 SU carburettors.
With uprated brakes, traditional ‘dry’ suspension and lightweight alloy wheels derived from the original Cooper Climax grand prix cars, these limited edition cars will offer a truly exhilarating driving experience, as well as a fast, reliable and dynamic expression of individuality.
Mike knew there is only one man with the reputation for consistently building cars to the standard he was looking for, so teamed up with Scott Turner at Brightwell Motor Company to produce these very special editions.

“They absolutely have to be the very best quality,” insists Mike. “Scott has won more trophies for his Mini builds than anybody else I can think of, and works with a team of similarly fastidious colleagues at Brightwell Motor Company. It had to be him. And in the Brightwell team and infrastructure we found the perfect fit.”
Working with some of the most respected names in the Mini world, Mike came up with a high-level specification for the limited edition Mini Cooper and Cooper S cars that will offer their owners a car with competition pedigree, but designed for the street.
